Latest Finance Report

Big news: our campaign announced yesterday that we've raised over $4 million in our effort to preserve marriage equality and defeat Question 1. Unfortunately, but somewhat expectedly, Yes on 1 filed their fundraising report and raised $1.4 million in just 20 days. Over $1.1 million of that came from National Organization for Marriage, a radical anti-equality group from New Jersey.
$1.4 million buys a lot of airtime in Maine. And their latest ad is just more of the same misleading scare tactics they've been using all along. Our campaign is on the right track, but the polls are dead even, and with this news we know we need to double our efforts. We must buy more TV time to combat their lies and fund more organizers on the ground to get NO on 1 voters to the polls.
The contrast between these two campaigns couldn't be more stark. NO on 1 has been fueled by more than 20,000 individuals -- people like you -- to make our case to the voters. Our opponents have relied almost exclusively on NOM, with just 310 contributions in this report.
It's folks like you who have built our campaign, giving online and at events, digging deep to join our movement for equality in Maine.
We need your help one more time as we enter these final 10 days of this campaign. We know that with their new $1.4 million-dollar war chest, mostly from one of the country's most radical anti-equality groups, the most vitriolic attack is right around the corner.
Thank you for your support.
